Workshop: ABPI CODE OF PRACTICE - one year on - has it been good for you?

ABPI CODE OF PRACTICE - one year on - has it been good for you?

HCI Workshop to be held from mid-day until 5.00 pm on
Wednesday 28th March 2007 at
IBM Conference Centre, SouthBank, London SE1

Members of HCI have been reporting their concerns about the impact of the ABPI Code on their partnership work. The Steering Group felt that HCI, as an independent partnership network of patient groups and pharma companies, could contribute to the debate by hosting a workshop about the Code. This would give members and other organisations an opportunity to share their experiences and look at where best practice is being developed.

The Workshop will be chaired by Geoff Frew, Managing Editor of Pharma Times, and there will be presentations from Simon Hodgson Corporate Social Responsibility Consultant, Niamh MacMahon, Communications Manager, Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority, Amy Poole, Head of Policy, Specialised Healthcare Alliance and Penny Wilson Webb from the Rarer Cancers Forum. There will also be input from member organisations of HCI about their experiences of partnerships.

During January and February Health Coalition Initiative has circulated to its members, and all those companies and voluntary health organisations who have participated in its workshops, a questionnaire about the impact of the Code. The results will be presented at the workshop.

Download the Pharmaceutical Industry survey or HCI Voluntary Sector survey.

We would like to encourage members of HCI to share their stories - good and bad - about the impact of the Code so if you and your partners would like to do this please contact Tina Funnell, organising secretary as soon as possible to discuss your involvement (01904 613 041 or email secretary@healthcoalitioninitiative.org.uk).

HCI Workshops are run on the Chatham House Rule, so that everything shared during a workshop will be confidential to participants. Any report of the workshop will be anonymised ensuring maximum learning from the event.
